I'm not sure how to resolve it but at least uncheck the "Use original APO" checkbox. That Windows error you're getting is a familiar one. Using exclusive access to the mic by an app will bypass any APO including Equalizer APO. And HyperX might still use this (Windows Vista!) technique too.Īs it's a mic the exclusive access mode should be disabled. Microsoft temporarily reverted back to this ancient technique. On certain Windows 11 updates LFX/GFX seems to work. If SFX/EFX was selected and SFX/MFX is automatically reselected, just means that SFX/EFX isn't an option. You did a lot so you have ruled out certain things already. If you're willing to, I could share you my screen on apps like Discord so you can get a closer look as needed. I don't mind any sound effects on headset/mic, I just needed a 15/25dB mic boost. Unfortunately, my HyperX headset has only a small firmware update and lacks any kind of software with an UI. Windows sometimes prompts me an error saying that it reverted audio enhancements and asks me to re-enable them, which I don't feel it's doing anything to help. I've also tried messing with the "Give exclusive mode applications priority" and "Enable Audio Enhancements" but none seem to make it work. If I change it to SFX/EFX and reboot, the APO still considers it as installed as SFX/MFX. For example, it's installed as SFX/MFX now. I tried messing around with these three options but seems that it doesn't change it even when I reboot my computer. The "Use original APO" checkboxes are not selectable on my microphone, only on the headset section on playback devices, but it isn't the intended. I've tried installing the APO on every device, and right now it's set up to the HyperX mic by itself. I know, right? It's much harder than when I tried to set it up last time.
